  • i might have a line on a lot of new festiva parts

without giving too many details, i spoke to the owner of a place that uses festivas for delivery. when they purchased the cars brand new, they went on to strip the car's interiors and placed everything but the dash and driver's seat in a box. apperantly they have lots of boxes from the original fleet.

i am trying to broker a deal with him to advertise the parts on this forum in exchange for a package tray.

from what i understand there will be the pass seat, rear seat, package tray, inner panels, and whatever else. many of the guy's fleet have smooth tail lights. i think for a fee he might be willing to swap ribbed for smoothies.

i got this guy's info and will be talking to him again soon. i have not had much time to be on this forum lately, so comments here are great, but real inquiries might ought to be directed to my e-mail.

i will get details when i can and get back to you. i get a lot of spam i never open, so, please be sure to include ford festiva forum or something in the 'title' so it does not get filtered out.

also, let me know what an entire interior package might be worth so i can get this guy more primed to sell the interiors.

I think waht you will run into is the cost of shipping larger parts such as the seats -
You may be better off to strip the covers and sell just the covers. the plastics will all ship for around 10 bucks
if the door cards had map pockets you can get some money out of those - you can pull the elusive underseat tray and rails to make profit
the rear cargo shelves will pring in some money
smoothies will bring some as well
you could sell the rear manual belt set up and the manual belt headliners
for the vehicle had cargo lights you can sell that

I personally would be interested in a set of mint rear plastics (hatch and rear pass seat) and as well a split rear seat if he had any.

Does he still have the vehicles?

they are still using festivas, but the fleet is getting tired. he has just learned about aspire swaps.
i turned the guy on this forum for other 'easy' swaps. they are buying used ones and converting them too.
i will get a hold of him soon.
we had fun talking festivas in person and now i think they want flames on their festies.
i honestly did not ask what all was stripped. i had peeked in one and just glanced at the interior. i will try to get info as time permits.

That would make a good meet but it's kinda cheating. Flawless interior pieces in this day and age would be worth driving for, for lots of members. Remember who reads these forums. Lots of road trip stories and documented aquisition threads. This time of year is the right time too.
