Has anyone modded a stock air box for B3 on a Festy , This thing has to be restrictive ,the only thing I found was for a B6 , or has anyone just totally replaced it with something else that fits half way descent without rewiring the mass air or relocating it. Thank you. Doug

There are a few different things you can do here.
1. Remove the lower portion of the box. This will give you better flow, but the filter will have to be replaced more often as it will get dirtier faster. (quickest and cheapest)
2. Customized snorkel. Remove the snorkel. Cut a hole to match a piece of flexible hose (like dryer vent hose) and reroute for the best airflow.
3. Remove the box entirely from the VAF meter, use an adapter and an oil/type cone filter. (most popular)

On mine I just cut away most of the lower portion of the box. I left just enough of it to mount the bottom part and be able to put the stock filter in it and attach it to the top part. It had to have helped my car get more air but I never noticed any improvement in power or performancePaul
