1990 festiva, 5 spd
Got another 5 spd in it after I blew up a 4spd.
I can drive the car untouched for approxiamtely 5-10 minutes before it dies. No "hot starts" at all. I can let it sit for 1 hour or so and drive it again for 5-10 minutes then the same issues. Changed the VAF, ECM, TPS so far.
I have yet to change the Ignition control module, disty with crank postition sensor or coil pick up sensor. Coil is also original. I have not ohm/volt metered anything. No check engine lights show in bank storage...
I was thinking it was a plugged catalytic converter, and when it gets up to temp throw a unnormal voltage reading to the 02 sensor, thus effecting the pulse rate on the injectors, shutting the car down.
New wires, plugs.....
My next thing to try is the coil and the disty after that if the problem still persists...I'm gonna cut the cat out and straight pipe/tube it. I can't find another IGM by the coil to try, none in inventory.
Any thoughts?.....
