I'm going to look at this bike in an hour. The guy wanted $550 for it but after talking with him on the phone he's going to take $475. I just need to make sure it runs and if so I'll be bringing it home tonight.

I'm excited I haven't had a bike in eight years!

Awesome man, I've got a 74 Cl 350 which is half trail half road bike, blast to ride. The 1970 models are more valuable, good price if it runs

The cb's make good cafe racers. I like the cb750 the best though.

I checked out the bike. Overall it's in good working order. The battery was dead so it wouldn't electric start. I asked if it could be kick started but it wouldn't fire. He said he thought it needed a battery charge to fire. I'm not sure on that. I told the guy charge the battery over night and I'd come back tomorrow night or as soon as it was running.

That's the intent. First it's going to need new factory matched paint and I need to finish the Festy.

Cafe bikes are a blast. My dad and i made this 76 CB 200 this winter. My dad blew the bike up 10 years ago, we did the engine, drag bars, fiberglass cafe seat, megaphone mufflers, powdercoated the engine cases. The paint on the tank is original, the cafe seat is matched.

Great lookin' bikes you guys! I'm waiting for the guy to give me a call back today. I'll likely be picking the bike up tonight. I'll be sure to take a bunch of pics when I do.

Well I turned the down the deal. I spoke to him on the phone and he said he'd just taken it for a ride. I said great, I'll be there tonight to ride it home. Then he said he wouldn't ride it home. He said because the battery and the tires. He said I had to trailer it. I immediately got suspicious as the tires I saw the night before were in good shape and the battery shouldn't matter on a kick-start bike (I don't think). I don't think he's a bad guy but I didn't want a bike with issues either. I told him if I couldn't ride it 40 miles to my house I wasn't going to purchase it.

I'm bummed. I had money and helmet in hand, ready to ride.

I would have offered him $400 and trailer the bike home. Those bikes are easy to work on.

The ignition is to weak when the battery is down. The plugs get fouled. That's the way the 350 i have is. It will run, but it will sputter when your going up a hill or under a load. You can ride them like that though
