Is there a larger engine, say like 1600 -1800 cc, that will plug and play in a 1989 festy. Mine over heated, water pump went out, and now it won't start. I thought this might be a god time to do an engine up grade.

Yeah read up in the engine swap section. I can think of 1 thats a direct swap, and a few more that swap in fairly easily.
It's a good thing you don't read the stickies, you might of learned something.
