I had a guy in Germany buy a 41 ford steering column.
Shipping was 12x the part. He said it was worth for what he was doing.
Depends what the project is, ungodly shipping might be pennies in their eyes... Doesn't hurt to post.

Only way I see it taking over 2+ months is if they took it to the beach , put it on a raft and gave it a push towards north america. I mean it has to cost somebody money to have the package in their care. Storage/ transportation/ handling. You,d think the shipping agent would want to deliver as soon as practicleComment

Everything is placed in containers. Heavy stuff on the bottom and light stuff on top. The goal is to fill as high as possible (to the roof and then install a bulkhead (a big wood lattice to prevent shifting)). There is a vast surplus of containers. They don't care about stacking them up anywhere and they are certainly in no big hurry. I used to work for a trans-shipment company.
