A little-talked-about feature of the LX interior is the ability to remove the front seat headrests, slide the front seats foward, tilt them back, and have the top of the seat just clear the folded-down rear seat -- everything's totally flat.
See what I crammed in, also taking advantage of the split rear seat. It's a carboard box containing a wooden crate containing the rear 5 feet of a Cessna 170 fuselage. I'm USMailing it (the crate, not the car) to Alaska.
A few years ago, I hauled an entire 180hp 360 cubic inch Lycoming airplane engine (4-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled, like old VW engines, but much larger) in the back of this same car with the front seats in their normal upright position
