I bought a red "'93L" from a local guy here in Columbus. He had posted it in our for sale forum a while back. I guess no one else was interested or able to buy it.
It's actually a '92L. Just a touch of rust along the underside of the hood is the only corrosion I could find. It's pretty dirty, having sat for at least two years. My Dad and I towed it home this morning. He steered it while I drove the van. It rolled well, but he said the brakes weren't the greatest.
It needs a new fuel pump and probably a new fuel tank. The engine looks good--no leaks to be seen. I need to work on getting her running as soon as I do Luxstiva's suspension swap. She'll be a second car until her inevitable transformation.
I call her "Twinstiva" since she's red like Lux with grey interior and I originally thought she was a '93. After I do the "transformation" either this summer or next, she'll become "Speedstiva" with a higher performance B6 and gutted interior, etc. I plan on painting her dark blue.
She came with two outside mirrors and a nice looking cargo cover, which will go into Lux. (Lux's stock alloys and 12" tires will go on Twin.)
Twin is a 5 speed.
I got her for $190, which has left me broke until tomorrow. Had to tap into my savings, but I decided she shouldn't go to the junkyard. Way too nice a body & interior for that! Way too young, too--only 69K miles!
