So I got the car 3 monthes ago. Its a 1993 Ford Festiva Has the 1.3L Kia engine in it. Ever since I got it the idle has been a big issue. I replaced the tps, adjusted the idle and still having problems. I have noticed its been an off and on problem. I drove it 20 miles yesterday without one single problem, now today it starts up right away but does not hold and idle and dies right when I let off the gas. Any advice on how to fix it?

Maybe clogged fuel / air filters?The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!

Yeah? Come on, there's more to it than that...when it runs that badly it will set a code/s. What codes are being set?97 Aspire w/K03 turbocharged b6 SOHC

A sticky VAF meter could cause your idle problem. Just a guess based on the limited info. There are many others. Unwarped/unworn by the pulleys timing belt covers are hard to find.Last edited by freshtiva; 09-02-2010, 08:58 PM.sigpic
