  • SeaFoam Proper/Reccommended use

I'm a SeaFoam virgin. About to try it out this afternoon.

I read the instructions, but just wanted to know if you guys have any reccommedations for methods of use or frequency that might differ from the instructions.

For example, is it good, bad, or irrelevant to add it to the gas, oil, and carb all at the same time?

    Speak, wise men...

I treated mine to a can yesterday , I gave it a partial can in the vac line that connects to the little block on the fire wall that goes to the intake plenum,a little in the oil, and the rest in a almost empty gas tank , then I went and filled it up. AAHHHH it said.

On a hot engine (HOT engine).

      Turn car off.

Remove PCV vacuum line. Stick into about 4 oz to 8 oz of seafoam.

Turn car on. It should flood out. Otherwise turn it off.

      Sit for 30 minutes.

Start engine and go for a spirited drive.

Seafoam is worthless in the gas tank or crankcase. But does wonders decarbonizing the combustion chamber.

      After I switched to FP60 by www.lubecontrol.com I haven't used seafoam.

Not quite clear on that, darkdan; pull the PCV valve out and add the Seafoam in there?

        Why would it flood out?

^drop the line that has the pcv on it into a can of seafoam which should flood it out.

Yeah, take the hose off the valve and put the hose into a can resting somewhere around there.

Seafoam is pale oil, naptha, and rubbing alcohol in a 6:3:1 ratio. Not extremely strong stuff in the gas tank or crank case.

              Thanks for the input guys.
I ran half a can of SeaFoam through the carb via the PCV line tonight, and it seems like I car already tell a difference.
I'll keep any eye on MPG, and try the SeaFoam again for the next few fillups to see how it all works out.
