Ok, So if you had $1500.00 to blow on your BPT how would you spend it? what would you do to your engine? just thought this could get intresting... 1500.00 isnt alot of money but it also is more then alot of people have to spend on what ever. -dan :happy1:

if i already had a BPT festy, that cash would go into brakes and suspention.Trees aren't kind to me...

ok now watch this guy (me) go way over budget lol....
fordged rods and piston
over sized and back cut valves
lots of head work
^ budget is gone...
a wickid set of turbo cams
custom long tube top mount turbo manifold and a nice huge ball bearing turbo to sit on it...
then some other little things like cam gears, fuel rail and other small stuff like that...
then i would get a nice standalone and a huge fuel and ignition system so all those goodies above could get the fuel and spark they need
but if i was limited to JUST 1500 and no more... (assuming i know who to weld) i would make my own turbo manifold to fit a t3/t4 or holset cummins turbo on it, then get a gtr ecu and a set of 550cc injectors... that should get you to 200 no problem... maybe even 250.... anything above that and your gonna have to start building the motor up with fordged stuff and then the money flow has to be alot... but dont forget you still have some other things to make power... like a clutch that will hold it and tires that will stick it... a wideband to see if it goes out of wack... and a big pair of "bolts" to keep your foot in it down the 1/4 mile lol...Last edited by sasquatch; 09-11-2010, 11:04 PM.

1500 is a drop in the bucket if your trying to build a motor, i would look for maybe someone parting out a miata with a built motor, theres a few ocasionally on miataturbo.net. but like as metioned above you can throw the biggest motor in the car but if you dont have the supporting components like a good built drive train with a good lsd, a good fuel system, a good suspension. its pointless. so drop the bpt in and build around the motor, once all that is done then build the motor last

I'd spend it on gas since bpt's don't get the best mpg's-Greg

Daniel, I would spend it on a wideband, SAFC, AFPR, Boost controller, Evo big 16g, and a walbro 255. If you plan on throwing this at the hybrid BPT, I wouldnt because the block isnt built for 1500 worth of goodies, now if you plan on dropping this in your mazda BPT, then I would. Remember that B8 block doesnt have forged internals like the legit BPT, that and the compression is something to be careful of aswell.89L build thread http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=36422
