  • Flipped my Festiva

I just flipped my festiva for a %50+ profit. Don't get me wrong, I love Festivas! But being 16 I have to find ways to make money so I can ultimately fund a BP swap festiva. I originally bought the car to do the swap but I didn't have money and just couldn't tear apart a perfectly running festiva. Also being in California I can only swap engines that are of the same year or newer so being it a 93' Festiva it was going to be a little harder finding engines. It has turned out for the best.

How would the State even know what year car the engine came from?

        ^serial number

But what I don't understand is if they would even check...? That just seems a little too much to believe.

California has a reputation for being a pain with smog and car mods. You can't even install a CAI if it doesn't have a CARB approved sticker.
After swapping an engine you have to take it to Bureau of Automotive Repair and you have to show proof of where you got the engine, also all emission poop have to be on. Then smog it.

I bought for $650 and sold for $1450. Not bad for a 16 year old!

Edit: Sorry about the double post

hmm... i think if someone offered me $1450 I'd sell my red car! Even if the engine only has 500-ish miles on it. Skeeter, on the other hand, would take a bit more cash to part with, and its in much worse shape!
