Someone has offered me a 1990 Festy for $500 but, it has 250k miles on it. My plan for the car is a BP swap but i'm a little skeptical because of all the miles on it. I'm worried about the hoses and plastic parts drying out and cracking. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about that. It's a 1990 Festy, like lots of others. Use the car's mileage to get the price down tho.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

You should replace the hoses when you do the BP swap anyway, and the plastic pieces deteriorate with age, not miles, so unless its been garage kept the plastic on a 250k '90 will be in about the same shape as 25k '90. Get it, and swap it!No festiva for me ATM...

Yep, check mainly for corrosion and body integrity. You may need to add lots of new or better parts, so get the price down as much as possible.

if you bp/g swap it with an aspire swap ALL of the parts that COULD go wrong have been updated... so they are good to go another million miles... mine has over 420K on it and its better than when it left the factory

Well yesterday I freakin told the guy I would buy the car on Saturday and today it turns out he sold it. To make things worse, I missed out on a $800 escort gt since I was paying attention to the festy. Have any of you guys had things like this happen?
