  • 1994 Mazda MX-3 question

A buddy of mine got a new ranger truck. He was driving a Mazda MX-3 1994. He cant keep it at his place ( city ordinance or something ). He was talking about calling a scrapper to pick it up. It runs but smokes. I was wondering if there is anything on the car that might be useable on a festiva. Five speed tranny, working a/c, six new tires. He has been driving it until the smoking issue started. He says it never got hot.

Probably just some different wiring than what has been done before, but it's still a B-series, it would work. They have an F-series transmission in them. I like that motor and would love to have one in a Festiva just because it's different than the Capri one.

Seats are one. I got the visors on mine out of a mx3. Wonder which motor it has in it? I know some had the 1.6L and 1.8L.. a new set of rings or valve seals you could be good to go.

What engine is in it? if it's the V6 i might be interested in the valve cover

        1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
        1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I havent look at the motor yet but Id guess its a 16 Valve B6-ME SOHC although the B6D came out in 1994.

                      ^ OK

Was told today that it is a DOHC. Going to try & go look at it tomorrow. Ive got too much going on plus several unfinished projects already so I probably wont get the whole car unless someone is interested in it. Might just do some part pickin before its gone. Ill get some pics if I go look at it. Gots lots of things on the agenda tomorrow, but Ill try.
