I hate when people do what that guy did to you, offer a deal and then sell it out from under you. But thats how some people are. I always try to at least be honest with someone and not tell them I'll sell it to them at a future date (been there a couple times and turned down other buyers, then the original guy didn't come through). So I can't really blame the guy for selling it to the first person with cash, but I can blame him for basically telling you he'd hold it and then not. Don't worry, you'll find something else though
I haven't found a Escort GT but I did find a festy now I had the cash but my dad wasn't free til friday. A guy I spoke to on CL said its happened to him about 20 times. Once he said he made a deal and went to pick it up but got lost and gave the guy a call for directions and the guy tells him he sold it! Ultra piss off!

There is nothing that says you can't ask what you want for something, since you aren't forcing anyone to buy it. I run into people all the time who want waaay more than I would pay for something. I just walk away. One of three things will happen: 1. They won't be able to sell it at all; 2. They will drop the price; 3. Someone to whom it is worth that much will cough up the cash. In a free market economy thats just how it works. Maybe someone else will come along that is willing to pay $650 for it. Maybe someone would have paid $1300 for it if that was the price. As long as the seller isn't trying to deceive the buyer about the condition of the item, they can ask as much as they want. Now if he was lying and trying to say the mileage was 20K instead of 200K, then I would see a problem with it.

True that. Maybe there was a good reason it didn't work out. I'm sure there is a better one just around the corner.

I e-mailed the guy and then later had a conversation on the phone. If you say your going to do something you have to live up to it. We agreed Saturday because it is when it worked out for both of us. If he needed money he could have asked for a deposit. Isn't it first come first serve?

I was so (explicit) excited, happy, ecstatic that I would finally be closer to a BP festy and then this happens. BS

Well I looked up the guy on Google and it turns out hes a mechanic at a dealer He already checked the hoses and said they are fine so it probably is a fuel pump which is no problem since I'm going to need a higher flowing one later. Going to pick it up Saturday

I think my bad karma is wearing off for flipping the festiva I had lol. The guy e-mailed back and if my dad says yes i'll hopefully be getting it on Monday. Then i'll have a donor car without a festiva.

P.S. Nice new sig Tommy lol
