  • Swap from one festiva to the other

just wondering what all was changed on the festivas from 89-92. did the tranny's change. i know that one engine is carbed and one is fuel injected. how hard would it be too swap out the carb engine and put in the fi.

also are wiring harness, ecm, bcm and sensors all the same?

sorry for the wording its just im in a bit of a hurry.

Yes the manual trans changed from a 4 sp to a 5 sp..

Manual to electric fuel pump, fuel tank, head lamp relays changed. Fuel line size is larger as well on the EFI models. ECU was changed from a 3 plug to a 2 plug. There is allot I'm missing, but I'm sure the guys and gals here will fill in the gaps..

EDIT: I am doing the same. I haven't started mine yet.
But since my donor car is handy, if I need the throttle cable or other
things that have different wiring connectors, they are readily available.

I pulled the complete wiring harness front to back (You may not need to
do it this way, but I didn't want to fight with splicing anything), ECU,
all relays, gas tank, fuel lines,Air flow meter.

I plan to do this with my red Festiva soon. I guess the only thing I need to change is the fuel lines.
