  • New Guy form canada saying hi

I just thought i would say hi. My name is Chris and i am a long time festiva fan. and recently just have picked one up. for $850 1991 and a festiva L 5-speed with 160,000kms(100,000miles) very little rust. picked it up and drove it home. a couple problems on the way home, it wouldnt stay running, it leaked massive oil. the wipers didnt work

after I got the old girl home, i started on the tune up, and looked for the oil leak, found 2 main leaks, on on the cam cover and on from the valve cover, fixed the problem and nothing leaking yet, fixed the wipers and installed a new battery. and adjusted the idle.
My plans for the cars is as fallows
    • aspire hub swap
    • I would like to get a factory speedo and tach combo
    • A little more pep, (but i have read about the B3 performance woes)Getting it to breathe better will help
    • B6 or b8 (very straight forward)
    • nice 13 inch rims for the 4x114.3 bolt pattern(for now)
    • nicer tires, 145/80/12 aint cutting it, thinking 165/65/13
    • Lowering it would be nice

I am hoping to find these parts in my local junk yard, lots of festivas here

now i have a couple questions for you guys.

will 155/80/13 tires fit?i am looking for some winter tires and most places only carry 155/80/13.

now my second question is i have heat in the car but when i change it to the vents on the dash i get cold air, on defrosts I get heat. any suggestions?

    Thanks Guys!

                Welcome fellow pegger!
The 155/80/13s should be fine iirc. I seem to remember running those on my last festiva.
PICS or your full of it haha winnipeg+very little rust=??? Most of the festivas I see around here have fist sized rust holes

Factory sepdo/tach- you wont find one in KPH on this continent.

Try bucks for parts, they usually have a few festivas.

HAHA Damkid, the whole world is metric! The US is just slow at most things, but they will come around :p:angel2:

Here is a world map with the countries that use the metric system in GREEN, and the ones that are behind in GREY.

Its not my Metric system, it is the WORLDs metric system! The US has wasted Billions of dollars on mistakes at NASA because they havent switched to metric. One day they will switch......just you wait and see.....then you can choke on your standard system......
