  • sloppy steering after axle change

I had an cv axle go bad, and had them replaced, upon driving it home I noticed a wicked push thru the steering when making gradual sweeping turns left or right, So I just got an alignment done, a little better, but still has a push, and body roll feeling in sweeping turns, did not do it before the axle change, any info or thoughts?

Did the same shop do both the axle change and then the alignment?

Is either shop someone you have used before?

Was the alignment shop a dedicated alignment shop or a Mc repair chain?

Answer these questions 3, ere the other side he see.

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Someone did a bad job of changing axles. Areas to check:

      Lug bolts/nuts tight.
Axle nuts are good and properly torqued.
      Steering arms tightened.
Control Arm Ball joint is secured and not damaged.
Lose bolts on shock struts. Check the nuts at the top the struts.
Check the nuts on the sway bar are tight & have the cotterpins installed.

Most of theses will show up , if you jack up the front wheels and try to wiggle them.

You may just need another alignment from a better shop.

Lesser, I have used the shop that installed the axles, I used a different shop to do alignment and I trust them both, Festiva I will start with that, Thanks

OK. Then I would check like Festiva Time suggested.

The problem I have is that if any of those things are found, IMHO someone dropped the ball at one of the shops.

          Just my 2¢.
