Pretty good deal , I jumped on it once I found out that ALL junkyards in a 60 miles radius had ZERO rear spoilers. Just finding a festy was something.

Not to brag, but the best I've done was to buy rust free parts off a '92GL Sport from a guy who was going to turn it into a golf cart and ran out of money...so he was cutting it up and parting it out. Get this...it RAN FINE, too! Over 200K miles were on it, but it was mostly rust free.

I was mad because I was supposed to go out there (1.5 hour trip) early in the morning after work but he didn't answer his phone. One last call, a few hours later and he was there. I was miffed because it was late...and offered him fifty bucks for the hatch and spoiler. He took it!! I went. Got the rust free hood for ten bucks, too and a buncha other little parts he had already taken off.

I was just too darn tired to get anything else. Nice looking bumpers (probably rust free metal underneath), but it was well after noon and I had another 1.5 hour drive home, so I left.

An unfortunate killing of a perfectly fine '92GL Sport but at least I salvaged some of it. He seemed like a nice guy, but he didn't seem to know or care what he had. Oh...did I mention it was mostly RUST FREE??

BTW, yes, I looked at the interior parts but they were pretty dirty and a bit ragged so I wasn't interested in them.

A golf cart! Then a part out. At least I made out! One sad story with a bit of a happy ending.

Here's the underside of that hood:

Yep, it was dirty (since cleaned off for storage), but where's the rust? AIN'T GOT NONE!!

            Other side:

            It's okay to drool...

^^ You should shrink wrap that thing and store it under lock and key. Rust free red hoods are apparently harder to find than gold. Eh, Stivadiva??

To the OP, nice score. But now I also am forced to hate you. :p

My best score was a spoiler, white tach cluster, hatch light with correct latch, lx console with boot and clip, hatch cover to restore with hardware, and two early style grills all for $80 from our very own tderrone from here on the forums. Best day ever!

first off, I'd like to say congrats and I don't think my stories here top yours. awesome job!

I did manage to buy 2 aspires for 220 bucks (which included a 20 mile one way haul from the seller to my house with the mostly complete aspire) and I also got an entire aspire swap and loads and loads...and loads of parts out of as I stripped the other one in his "junkyard" of a yard. plus the seats I swapped. idk what else from those...pretty sweet score. So far I think I've made all of that money back and got the swap for free. haha.

and recently I picked up a really clean set of hollow spoke miata wheels with big bald tires from autox' for 50 bucks he actually listed them as "slicks" they're so bald. lol.
