  • Newb with a 121 Metro B5!

Hi guys just thought I'd introduce myself. After selling my heavily modded Nissan Patrol, I have now replaced it with a 99' Mazda 121 DW Metro! Mine has the rarer and larger B5 engine, and is a manual too :-) I realize that the B5 engine is somewhat less common than the B3, but I don't suspect there is a lot of difference between the two (they share the same manifold gasket for starters!). I'm looking forward to connecting with other 121/B5 owners on the forum to see what mods and other info can be gleaned!!

      Welcome!

You'll probably be one of the few...or...none!

Post some pics when you can, and let us know about where you live. Is your "Metro" a bubble car or the later "wagon" style? I'm assuming it's Mazda. I'll guess you're in the UK or thereabouts.

It'll be cool having info about a later model!

I'm guessing "wagon." Actually, quite a bit of visual similarity going on.

Engine compartment pics would be really welcome!

Would love to see some B5 stuff as we don't have any in the states.

              From Wiki:

I'm wondering about our new member jetmech421 from the Dominican Republic. Could his be a "Fiesta" instead of a "Festiva?"

              I'll look for "2003 Festiva."

Well I googled the above and while there were a few "hits," none of them showed any pictures and seemed to be the generic "response" from webcrawler ads that simply copy what you typed in and pretended to offer something that wasn't there.

As far as I can tell, the Aspire/Avella/Festiva was only made up to either 1999 or 2000. I'm pretty sure 2000 was the last year for Kia Prides (except for the "New Pride" AKA the Rio's shortlived original name).

After that, we have to go to Iran, but those weren't called "Festivas" any more.

We have a few members on here from Austrailia that have cars with the B5 in them. Not sure what cars, but I remember reading about their B5's.

                Welcome to the site Wheelbarrow!

Also put your location in your profile (as per rules) before somebody starts gettin in an uproar about it.
