  • "Ultimate Automotive Survivors" list (w/Festiva!)

Cool article!: "Fifty cars made for at least 20 years."

Has links to weird commercials and other neat stuff.

    On the Festiva:

"Mazda 121 / Kia Pride / Saipa Pride / Ford Festiva
    22 years (1987-present)
Talk about your confusing cascade of captive imports and badge engineering! We’re pretty sure that some variety of this car has been in production since 1987."

I wouldn't be surprised if this had been posted before, but it's too cool to miss. If it was, I missed it the first time.

    Enjoy!

I find it amusing that the Festiva in the article seems to have been sponsored by "Naughty America".
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

They couldn't even give it a nice picture to go with the article. What a shame...

Wellll .... they CALLED the "Mustang II" a "Mustang" but it was nowhere NEAR the same car, not even as close as a bugeye Sprite and a Spridget.

If they'd made the modern ones that they make today instead of those, you'd have 47 years for sure .....

Eh....technically no Mustang has ever had its own chassis except (according to Ford) the '05+, so the fact that the II was based off the Pinto doesn't bug me since all the others were based off something else (Falcon, Zephyer/Fairmont). I say according to Ford because many believe this new chassis is little more than a tweaked Lincoln LS chassis...not that that's a bad thing.

It's interesting how, in 2010, we sort of laugh at the Mustang II, but back when it was introduced, It was a pretty successful car for Ford.
