  • Look what they're doing in China...

Oh my. You custom instrument guys will go gaga over this:

"Electroluminescence technology." Or something like that.

No, I can't exactly figure out what they're selling. Instrument clusters or retrofit lighting? Someone knows, but they speak Chinese and I don't.

Here's another tantalizing product from over there:

Making parts for export, definitely. For Iran and Venezuela and their Festiva clones, perhaps? An emerging market?

Aha! Here's more than the usual information!:

About $150 for one radiator shipped to the U.S. Express is extra. I think that's right. All from the "ebay" version of Alibaba. I need to get that book written on dealing with that company. I'll see what I can do.

Enough for me searching "Kia Pride" on google images. I wonder how many other parts are being made for export?

    JUST ONE MORE!:

How'd you like to mount a BRAND NEW STEERING KNUCKLE!!!!

I can't take this any more. Bye.

    Karl

I can't say anything about the quality of these products, but I know the industrial tools I was involved with that were "custom" made have been the cause of more issues than the money saved in having them made in China.

well yeah, spares would be good, but i immagine that there are quite a few people out there that would love a superior brake upgrade option....
