  • Complete Car Swap?¿?

If you were to buy a car to swap. Which one would you use and why? I was thinking about total swap. Engine, trany, axles, wiring.. etc.. etc..

Engine blew on my carbed 88... thinking about biting the bullet and just moving on to bigger and better things... than to just put it back the way it was...

Have several leads on Escorts and Escort Gt's.. and a few Protege's.. and one Capri.. but its not a turbo.. so not that interested in that one ( yet )... If I had a Mig or Tig welder at the house I'd be all over a even more complexed swap ( as far as fabrication goes ) but I don't so looking to keep fab down to a minimum... Might still end up fab'in a custom intake or valve cover.. who knows... just brainstorming currently.. any in put is greatly appreciated guys..

    Thanks in advance!!!!

88-89' gtx with a BPT swap

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

The B6t capri is number one on my swap list... just locating one, and for the right price. LOL... I am willing to just do a b6 car swap and worry about stuff later... just would like to do it all at once if at all possible...

Just figured since it was already swapped you may interested. If I could find a Capri Xr2 with no rust I would probably give up my festiva. The uglier the car the better.

Why not try a KLZE swap into a festiva? It's a blast to drive

I agree it would be.. but if I were to do that v6 swap, it would be a 3.0 Dohc with Svt Contour upper and lower.. or ST200... ( port maching the heads with some welding in the ports to match up ).. and use the Svt Contour Trans also.. but that is just the way I would probably go.. maybe not the best or cheapest route.. just how I would probably do it... and would take every spare minute I have.. LOL.. Finding a wrecked 1999-2000 Svt Contour would be a nice donor car.. hmm..

Once again.. I appreciate the input guys.. keep em coming...

capris are still around here on the west coast. The turbo ones go to the JY with not a stain on the seats or anything I never understood it other than simply bad maintenance.

I just stumbled upon an XR2 Capri about an hour ago while making sales calls. It's behind an Import car repair place hidden in the weeds!
