The year was 1991. I got number 1. It was an 89L 4 speed. Carb, no air, no pass mirror. Picked it up for $3200. It had 22,700 miles on the clock. I was 20. Dad twisted my arm to get it. I wanted the 4wd justy. THANKS DAD!! I paid it off in 18 months at 207.45. It took me back and forth to Athens Georgia many many times. I played music there. I wrecked it 3 times. It made a living for me delivering gumbys pizza in Athens. I was brutal to that one. I knocked out 3rd gear at 112,000 miles, then second went. I got another 8,000 miles out of it after that. The trans turned to mush leaving only reverse. I sold it to a junkyard for $300. If I had known then how tough they could be.... Well that's another story. I've bought, sold, parted out, and swapped many festivas since. No car has ever moved me like a festiva. It's not as special as a person but it's almost as special as a dog! So much personality! I'm driving number 21 now (for sale) and of course I have my eye on number 22. Number 22 is a 90lx. Here's to many more years of festiva bliss and many more high mileage discoveries! I found 2 in October with 465,000 and 475,000 both on the original engine transmission and clutch.
Festiva.... Ftw.... Again!
