I just finished my 130mph speedo cluster with trip counter which cost me less than $20 to do. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do, but not rocket science by any stretch. Take an afternoon and some patience and you can save quite a bit of money doing it yourself. And it's fun, and you end up with a personalized piece.
I used this overlay. Happily everything lined up nicely the first time.

                      And the speedo from this.
