Back before I ever knew what a festiva was I had a jeep comanche with the 4.0 I6 and I used it as a field beater and those engines, just like Paul said, are as durable as the B series engines

my crawler jeep has 265,000 HARD miles and dosent smoke or knock and turns over 35x14.5x15 tires like nothing...... that's why all heavy haul semis have a inline 6.... there isint the strain of the side to side motion of a "v" engine. My dads semi currently has 1.3 million miles on the factory 12.7 detroit, dosent smoke and still gets 7.4 mpg..... gotta love an inline!

That's because the 4.0 inline six is a torque monster with crazy durability. I'm talking REALLY durable. 300,000 is normal for those like it's normal for the B3.

I have a good list. The list is made up of vehicles I regularly see with 300,000 miles. All others fail. It's on it.
