I personally don't have aaa, bc now I have a festy towbar! But I would look into aaa and see if that's true. My mom had it and as I recall she said unlimited or 1000miles, but I cannot remember. Even if its 1000 miles. It would be worth the year membership for a couple hundred dollars and it will cover any vcar u are in regardless if u own it. That's how I got mine home, my buddy chase told the driver that he was riding in the car when it broke and they towed it.

If it's a classic Mini, you have a size & weight advantage. Think of it as a large deep-freeze chest on wheels. I would just fly to 'Bama and rent a Ryder or Uhaul truck with the van or pickup type cab. When you get there, buy some 2X12X10' boards (for ramps) and a ratchet hoist to load it in the back. Technically, I don't think you're supposed to haul a car in the back of one of those (according to their contract), but as long as you don't wreck, no one will know. I have done something similar before.

Yeah plus if I wrecked it I would be in deep doodoo. The car only weighs like 1300-1400 lbs, but there are a lot of extra parts with it. Still haven't heard back so it probably won't happen.
