  • Petcock

So, the drain petcock on the radiator has broken off. The inside part stayed put and is still sealing.... Kind of. It leaks, but not a LOT.

So... can I just get a new plug or do I have to get a whole new radiator?
    Buck.

You should be able to get another DRAIN cock at any McParts "help" section.

First, take your remaining plug out if you can (try pliers to turn it out) to match the new part.

This happened to me a while back.

I went out and grabbed my extra one. It is in a red package (visible through clear plastic on red cardboard backing) that says "HELP!" and "radiator drain cock." Part number 61124 for Mazda and Nissan. The part itself is white with a black washer. Should be hanging with all the other "HELP!" parts. I probably got mine at AZone.

As Jim illustrates, look for a "drain cock," not a "PET cock."

Also, keep the following in mind:

        "Don't sweat the petty things,
and don't pet the sweaty things."
