Dome light doin' crazy things. Dome light part comes on when door opens ok, but if you turn it to on or off with door closed buzzer comes on . Map lights work but dome light bulb comes on very faint. If you turn both map lights on at the same time they are dim & dome light bulb gets brighter, this is with door closed. Map lights don't work with door open. Grimlins? Ghost of past owners? Screwed up electricl circuit?
    ? I screwed up installing?

Me thinks you are having a problem wherein the light is not properly grounded to the car. Take it back off. Verify that your headliner is cut back far enough for the screws and backing of the light to make a good ground connection to the car. My first one did the same thing until I pulled it back down, and trimmed the headliner enough.

Good call, batstiva. It's getting 12 volts and ground from the door switches but it's not getting a good ground from the body.
