If it puts out more top end, then you will probably lose torque and drivability. Consider this before buying.

already bought, but the street cam. i doubt you would notice any loss and driveability, i put JDM mazdaspeed cams in my protege 5 and it was nothing but good!!

u dont lose any bottom end power or anything it just really brings the engine to life around 4000 rpm till redline it pulls hard. my b6-me pulls from 3000-5500 rpm

Id only change the cam if i was working the head over at same time, the race head especially.

hahaha blitzbuggy you have opened up a can of worms.

my opinion is, you probably will only make 3whpmore, and your tq will stay the same' but if you autox/drag/roadrace the car, you will notice a HUGEEE increase because your tq and power will have been moved to higher rpms, The car will be way funner to bag around and will be much faster on a track.

In other words, no, nobody knows?

FMS don't even know. Amazing isn't it?
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

It's impossible to say what HP might be added because so much depends on the mechanical condition of the engine, other mods, etc.. Plus, I don't think anyone has ever actually done any dyno testing that I know of. The "comp" (street) cam has a fair amount more lift and slightly more duration & overlap than the stock cam.

If I was to make an educated guess, I would say it would add in the neighborhood of about 5HP over the stock cam on a healthy stock B3 or B6 with stock exhaust, intake, etc.. Add a header, free flowing exhaust and some mild head work and you may see around an 8HP bump over the stock grind. The "race" grind on a 10:1 B6 with ported head, header, etc. could conceivably add 10HP over the stock cam. I know it doesn't sound like much, but remember you're only starting with 62 or 82 HP respectively. A stock 200HP V8 typically sees about a 20Hp (10%) gain going to a nice RV/Street cam, but everything is co-dependent.
