  • Decals Question

I was wondering how the non-sticker decals are fastened to the back of the vehicle. You know, the ones that say Festiva L..GL...etc.

I'm just curious because at some point i might want to get rid of the sticker version on my 91 festy L, and put on something more legitimate!

So is the lettering just attached by adhesive foam padding, or is it physically embedded into the back frame?

    Thank you all!

they have two studs that insert into the back of the car. Mine is just a sticker version as well. And there is a few non sticker decals for sale on here. but you will have to drill holes and get the placstic inserts that go into the back of the car

Or just take the plastic logo, cut the plastic studs off it, and attach it with the proper adhesive

I tryed adhesive with my ford emblem on the hatch and it was on there good till I put the big stereo in, then I came off somewhere and I never found it, but the stereo also ripped the metal around the latch so unless u have a huge stereo the adhesive should work nicley!

I've used the adhesive before. As long as you scuff up the paint and the back of the emblem first, it'll be there forever (you'll have to scrape it off).

Thank you for the replies folks!

I agree though, the sticker is kind of bland looking. Why not do our babies the honor of identifying them properly?

I'll have to check out the emblems FS!

                  Much appreciation fellahs!

I'm stripping all emblems off of mine. No identification at all. Let 'em guess.

When I do an engine swap (I'm going B8ME) I might put "1.8" or "16V" on it, but that's it.

I like the decals. Try waxing around the badge. You end up with unwaxed/unprotected paint in between the lettering or globs of wax thats hard to rub in or off. You can wax right over decals plus you can have several options on colors.

Here is a pic of my 1.6 badge that I am debating on putting on my Festiva. More and more, I am leaning toward just leaving the car bare and let them guess. I even want to replace the mud flaps with plain Pride ones without the Festiva logo.

I took mine off to work some rust starting in that area. I thought it was adhesive and broke the two mounting lugs. What is the part number to replace with a new badge from Green Sales?
