Yeah, I know there are more options to be a full-up LX but I figure I'll add the big stuff...2nd mirror, AC and the 5th gear, as well as possibly the defrost and rear wiper. I figure when I'm done I'll be closer to an LX than an L, I think. I'd call it an L-PLUS but apparently they didn't make L-PLUS's in 1988.

    Thx for replying.

Here is a picture of my 88L with a full LX interior. The LX's also had the full console, door toppers, B piller trim, C piller trim and door pockets. The split rear bench seat that came in the LX's is just cool to have in so many ways. I have more pics I can post of the interior if you really want to get into it. But this should give you an idea.

Thx for the info. What are door toppers, B piller trim and C piller trim? I am aware that some Festivas had a trim piece on the center pillar. So is that B trim or C trim?

Completely different question: how long ago did you paint your heater/radio bezel and dash bezel and how well are they holding up?

The door toppers are the vinyl trim pieces just above the door panels, The B piller is the right behind you where the seat belts bolt on, and the C piller is the one all the way back that the hatch shock bolts to.

I painted my bezels over a year ago and they are holding up just fine.

How do you remove the vinyl door toppers? Just pull them off carefully?

                  Karl

Karl, if you gently pry up on the inner window felt you will see yellow clips. Just hold up the felt gently and use a small screw driver or pic to release the center of the clips, once that is off gently pop the trim piece for the door lock out, then start at the lower edge of the topper and slowly with a little pressure start working the glued edges loose, it takes a little patience and time so you don't pull the foam backing off the vinyl. A nice warm day or a heat gun going up inside the door make it a whole lot easier.

I think he may be refering to my aftermarket cup holders I installed. They actually keep a soda cold in the summer when the AC is on.

Very nice Fresh! you can see the intermittent wiper switch, optional fog light switch, mirror switch and the dash clock that wasn't available in the US market. Someday I can find the bezel for my clock and get it installed.

I had to wire up an L for options before. The best way to do it in all honesty is to find yourself a totally ragged out LX and gut it for the options, and wiring. Most likely, it will also have an A/C unit also, and those units are specific to 88&9 cars. I have also changed out two other L's to LX's and I can tell you from experience that a complete donor car is the most economical way to go, and having both cars side by side while you swap helps with the small fastners, etc. I have used nine Festivas to make four good cars with the options myself over the years.

Yes, the dash cooler for keeping your favorite beverage cold, works off the AC system.

OK, call me a mo, but I'm still not sure what you mean here. The only trim pieces I can think of above the door panels are the long black ones that sandwich the window but I'm sure you're not talking about those because even my 'L' has those.

Thx for B and C pillars explanation.

That's COOL! (no pun intended...ha! ha!) The bin doesn't appear very deep so I'm guessing you had to keep the lid open when you used it?
