Changed the head gasket. Somehow annihilated the timing... took a couple hours to get it right again.

Well, yesterday I rerouted (and shortened) the VAF harness to the driver side, moved negative batt cable to pass side, hooked up all the wiring on the back side of the motor including splicing IAC plug, installed starter, installed brake booster crossover tube and some other little odds and ends on Danny's car. Today I'll be making the battery tray and throttle cable bracket using the designs I laid out yesterday. Throttle bracket will be no prob, hopefully the same goes for the batt tray but it will be a little more intense fabrication so we'll see Need to install the positive cable today too.No festiva for me ATM...

Installed the white tach cluster in Green Car this morning in 20 degree weather and 20mph winds. Good thing I've done cluster swaps enough times that it took less than ten mins
Already finished the throttle bracket for Danny's B6 too, all before 8:30. Shaping up to be a fairly productive day lol.

Good work, man!
I slid through a couple of intersections in the neighborhood today. Luckily the main roads were salted and the drive to work was quicker than I expected. I'm sure it'll still take a few more days with snow on the ground before everyone relearns how to drive in it...-Zack

Last night I put new MOOG swaybar end bushings on Fajita. Now it'll get up above 40 without shaking so bad. Problem is now the tops of the doors flap, LOL!!
Also noticed the driver's side tie rod end was missing a cotter pin for the castle nut, it was still tight, dug thru my stuff and found one and installed it.
Now just have to fix the headlight switch and the speedo cluster. I'll probably just swap the steering column instead of trying to remove the multifunction switch. The P/O installed a lighted rocker switch in the dash for the headlights so I'll need to figure out what was hacked. The speedo noise is annoying at speed.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

Throttle bracket installed! After looking at that pic I realized that there was too sharp of a bend going at the bracket end, so I rerouted the cable a tad and its smooth now
And here is how the battery tray sits. Still have to take it back out and drill one more mount hole in the back, then clean up and paint and shes done! Has an inch of clearance between hood and terminals with hood closed. Not too bad
