Nice work with LCA's, the plasti-dip job on the wheels too. What size tires did you go with?

The plasti dip was cheap and fun to do. You really cant mess it up. I thought I did a couple times, but once it dries it starts smoothing over nicely. Best part is I can just peel it off if I ever wanna go back to the machined look.
Those lcas were a pain untik someone mentioned drilling through the side there. After rhat it was a cake walk.

In the spirit of the discussion I had a very festiva-ey weekend. Got the floor pans, pinchweld and, inner rockers welded in on the '90. where to begin on the 91? replaced front struts after one snapped trying to move the car into the garage, got the motor out of the automatic car switched over to clutch so it was ready to bolt up, got all the seals changed in the donor motor as well. After that I wire wheeled the block and head, painted the bock with high temp ceramic paint, and painted the exhaust manifold with flame-proof aluminum paint, then began scrubbing down the engine compartment with degreaser:nightmare:
oh and I turned 460,000 miles with my '89banana time91 festiva 2.jpg91 festiva 3.jpg91 festiva 4.jpg89 LX (461xxx miles original motor and trans, retired)

I have done nothing but drive me Festiva for awhile now. Put probably 500 miles on it this weekend. I hauled 2 sets of Festiva wheels with tires and a set of Cherokee wheels to Kansas City this weekend where I spent all of Saturday trying to get my other project running. Unfortunately no luck. But here's a pic of the two vehicles together!

I installed an intermittent wiper switch ....
.... and put in a better Festy mirror. My other one started getting a little loose and would not always hold position.
Last thursday, on way to work, noticed my speedo wasnt working, friday I went to PnP, got another cable and installed it.
Its nice to have a working speedo!Last edited by drddan; 06-10-2013, 01:42 PM.Dan

Did a :twisted:HARDCORE:twisted: CC clean with a potent homebrew cocktail, and degreased the engine bay some more. Also converted to 3/4x16 oil nipple to run the bigger and cheaply available Escort filter, and threw in an oil change with 5w-20.
Seems to run better after smoking for a good 15 minutes. MPG will tell if it really is.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
