Took her out on her first rally test with the BP in it! It's scary fast on the gravel... Through most of the practice stage was unable to get it out of 3rd gear because i was gunshy... Also signed up for a Rally in Minnesota area because we got her running, so im about to get some serious time in her to prepare and see if i can get myself comfortable with the new set up. Did NOT, expect it to be this powerful.

Like the pipes you got! We're about to replace ours to let the BP breath a bit better before the Rally happens.

Please excuse the sound quality.
This was recorded on my cell phone.
So the lower rpm revs might not record well
The low revs have a lower tone than my phone picks up
No fart can.
No bumble bees.
Not super loud.
Not super deep.
Quiet and clean note.
I think the sound is better on anything but tiny cell phone speakers.
Or at least it was hooked up to my t.v.

I finally got all 4 wheels back on the ground and my KYB struts and FMS springs installed. Was dark when I finished...like completely dark. So I'll get pics tomorrow!

Yesterday and last night I cleaned up my A/C parts and installed everything.
It's all connected and can pull a vacuum but will not hold a vacuum.
The system was still pressurized last week when I took it apart.
Tonight we're going to redo all the fittings again (with more new o rings) and diagnose each one.~Austin

I drove my Festiva to my mom's today and on the trip home I saw a red Festiva behind me. I saw him pull into a store so I did a 180 and pulled in.
His name was Nathan and he said his family had owned several Festivas. He was driving I believe a 90, red with Alloys and a cargo cover.
I told him about this site and gave him a card with my name on it. Maybe he will join the forum.Jerry

Talked to matt about the dead spot in the lower rpms.
He told me to bump up the fpr a couple lbs.
Did that and man everything is nice now.
Power all the way from down low to up top.
I'm gonna go on a freeway run now :-)
See how the mileage compares.

At work last night in box office. See a nice clean grey Festy fly through the lot and park. When he and his girlfriend get up to the counter, I say "That's a nice Festiva you've got there!" He says "I was hoping no one saw me..." Me "Aw come on man, they're awesome!" He says "I just totaled my truck and it's all I've got..." and starts walking away. I slipped in a "They're dang good cars!!"
:/
His appeared to be in really good shape...

You know I felt that way at first.
But then after having it a while.
It just grew on me.
Best, cheapest, most reliable, easy to work on, cheap parts car, that saved me a ton on gas.
When I had my eclipse I did an mpg comparison over 10,000 miles with the gas which was at $4 gal then.
The eclipse got around 26 avgs
The aspire had 34 mpg avgs consistent no matter how fast I drove.
And every 10,000 miles it saved me about $361 in comparison with the eclipse at 26mpg
And over the 200,000k miles I drove it I saves about $7220 in gas over its lifetime I owned it.
That's a whole nother car or $7200 to invest into one.
Logically it made sense and the money saved
created a budget for repairs and maintenance over its life
As opposed to spending that $7200 in gas and extra on top for maintenance and stuff.
Why do people look down on our cars so much.
They make it easy to own, maintain, drive,
And pay for themselves almost literally.Last edited by rmoltis; 07-12-2013, 12:50 PM.
