tracking side to side

I just install the FMS spring and K2 KYB struts and the 5/8 treaded rod in the rear.( big difference even with the stock front bar). I needed tires so I got kellys. 175 70 13's. ( great in the rain but softer than I would have liked)
During the tire install I had a 4 wheel alignment.
The car now seems to slightly jerk or track to one side or the other every so often. It does not feel like the road crown doing it. Steering wheel seems straight

Any ideas what it might be.?

I seemed to only have noticed after the tires.

Does it do this on all road surfaces? Doing it consistently? Sometimes grooved pavement will "catch" the tire tread.

and it's not like the kelly's were driven on, right? if they were ridden on a bad alignment I'd totally say that's the case you are dealing with. I put on some used tires once that were gone more on one side than the other and driving was scary for a little while lol

is there any play in your steering rack? like can you turn the steering wheels without turning the wheels? that or they didn't align your front very well.

Tires are new and it does not seem
To
Be road specific.
Alignment was done with the tires and for 97k steering is not sloppy

I had that problem myself after having a new set of tires & alignment done. It would pull to the left, but if you made a RH turn it would quit pulling. Then, if you made a LH turn it would start to pull again. Prior to the new tires & alignment it drove perfect (and the tires were shot). I searched for anything loose or wore in the suspension, but couldn't find anything. 5K miles later, I rotated the tires and it quit pulling. My only guess is that one of the "new" el-cheapo Chinese tires had a bad belt or something. When I moved it to the rear, the problem went away!

Try swapping tires front-to-back and see what happens.

I will try swaping the tires but I purposely bought Kelly because they are USA made.

Check your air pressure (35 is what you want it to be). I had a customer come in a few days ago for the same problem. They were way overinflated. 60+ all the way around

I will check it. The shop said the 4 wheel alignment machine does it all (put air in the tires too) and he was going to set it to 32 psi but I should verify this

also check your lower control arm to sway bar bushings, if thet are loose or deteriotated, the resulting caster play can cause a pull.

good point. these bushings are pretty cheap. and you can upgrade to poly bushings right?

Follow up:

Strangley enought the problem seemed to have cured itself. I am thinking maybe the tires broke in. A belt seated itself. I never had this before. New tires. Kelly Explores.

Oddly as well the problem was fixed prior to me installing new LCA bushings and poly SB bushings. Weird.
Just letting you know.
