  • 2" 100cpsi metal cats?

Hi fellas, I'm finding it impossible to find 100cpsi 2" metal cats... I can only seem to find them in 200cpsi. 2.25" seems to be the smallest 100cpsi available. Is there any reason for this do you think?

Why can your parts store get you a cat? You can just buy the 2.25 inch one and put some reducers on both ends.

Because it's apparently the only solution.

Why install a cat? Emissions tests?

Illegal not to have one in Australia. So the less restrictive cat, the better...

How would a 100csi be any more restrictive than 200csi?

The 200 will have smaller holes, but twice the holes in the same area should mean that there is more surface area to the holes.

The surface area of the holes in a cat is generally larger than the cross section of the pipe they're fitted to, to reduce pressure differential across the catalyst.

Oh, you want the restriction. How different... In that case, carry on.

No no, 100 cell is less restrictive, much larger holes! Sorry if I misled
