I just realized there was a forum for these things yesterday. I've been driving my Festiva for about 6 months. I got it for free with a bad distributor and a whole bunch of other problems. It's an 89 L and it makes for a great daily commuter. My other car is a 2010 wrx which doesn't get the greatest mileage.
I'm hoping to pick up a 5spd tranny today to replace my 4spd. I've found one semi local for $100. My clutch is just about shot and I figure why not upgrade the trans while I'm at it.
I've done a few things to the festiva since getting it.
stripped the interior and radio out.
new distributor
new tire rod
new axle boot
fixed a bunch of frame rail rot
made a ghetto aero package
wheel bearings
ditched the failing carb and put a weber 3236 on with a custom intake
boxed in the rear axle to decrease body roll
made a guage pod for a tach, wideband, vac/boost gauge.
Long term I want to fuel inject it using a megasquirt and possibly turbo it.
I'm pretty experienced with fabbing and welding.
Might even rally-x it next month
