Yes they do, why are you asking.

Turn your key to the "ON" position and the it should come on, unless the bulb is burnt out or something. The CEL is located below the tach.

Your CEL should be where the red circle is.

My guess is the bulb is blown or weak. I would pull the cluster and and check the bulb, connections, ect. If the bulb looks burnt out take it into a parts store and they should have a replacement. To pull the cluster you need to unscrew the speedo cable from the transmission, remove the bezel from around the cluster, it is just a few screws. Unscrewing the speedo cable gives you enough slack to pull the cluster out to unplug the connections on the back.

This is getting wierd, i checked again and there's no engine icon in the spot you circled. Even with the bulb burnt out shouldn't there be a icon in that spot?

Without a backlight they are very hard to see. Try using a flashlight and shine it at different angles. It may illuminate it, but it may not. On mine I can use a flashlight and illuminate the CEL, belt light and rear defrost light, but I can't even see the Oil, Charge, or brake without it being lit up from the back. But I'm sure its there.

IIRC, the bulb is a 194, commonly available in Walmart for cheap!
