  • Intro - going to get my red '91 L, 5sp, non a/c 142k this afternoon in OKC

I'm getting it for the mileage primarily, but would like to fix it up a little as well.

Seems like there's some terminology I need to figure out. Is there a Festiva 101 page?

I thought I had scored a white parts car for $100, but it had already sold.
    I'll post pics later.

          THUNDER UP!!! LOL!!

Hopefully they put away the Griz tonight, but I'm afraid the Mavs would have either team's number.

As far as the 101 dealio, I see stuff about BDT and B6T and BR549 (Hee-Haw reference). Aspire stuff on a Festiva.

I like the rear wing I've seen on the top of the hatch. The sliding rag top is pretty cool too.

My immediate concerns as far as safety goes is the right rear wheel is going bald on the outside, all the tires are fairly new and this one is bad. Going down the highway, I throw it into neutral and turn the engine off and still hear the whine. Not sure if it's a bearing, a bent axle or a bent wheel. If I have a bent axle, would the Aspire rear axle work under the car?

Visual concerns are the blue rear bumper on the red car. The problem isn't the blue paint, its the tag sized hole cut out of the bumper right under the tag. I got a spare black bumper cover with the car, but the right corner is toast on it. Right now I'm thinking of cutting the center out of the black bumper and gluing it in over the blue bumper, then spray bomb the whole thing flat black until I can find a good replacement.

The driver's seat has a split between the bottom and the bolster on the right side, seat covers could fix this for now.

Cool thing is, for an L, it has aluminum wheels. He also gave me a full size steel wheel and tire as a spare, and the car still has the factory donut as well.

The trunk cover is gone, some of the interior parts are cracked, but it runs well.

I would like to add A/C to the car, would an Aspire with A/C work for a donor?

put the spare that you have or the other wheel & tire he gave you & take it for a test drive, if still noisy most likely bearing.

Look at that right rear wheel

                  Clean engine

                  Front quarter view

Hard to see, but the front bumper of it and my truck are about even, the rear bumper is even with the front of my bed.

                  Rear

                  Open

                  Inside

                  Door panel

                  Back seat

If I was Shaq, this would be my view while driving

                  A Kia!?! LOL!!

I posted them to SuperMotors.org and linked them in a post, but got a message saying a moderator had to approve the post.

I know on a few forums they do this so they can confirm you're not a spammer posting porn or some other crap.

Ahhh, my fault. Pics were too big. New phone, 8mp camera = 3000x2000 some odd res, not the 640x480 res.

I had some witty banter between the pics, but I'm too tired to redo it.
