Has anyone installed ground wires (5) in thier Festy? Is it worth it? Gonna make my own from Audio Amp power wire if its worth the time.

Ive used the exact wire your talking about for some I didn't notice any difference but better safe than sorry!!!1992 white L, Bp, American racing 13's, stock trans.
1991 White L, BP/F5MR, protege header, full aspire swap with gr2's, seats, and sway bar, 15" konig's, short throw, escort console.
1991 blue L, 5 speed.
1988 red L-plus-all stock.

It should have an effect on both power and mileage, especially if your existing electrical system has been compromised or edited at all.
The effect will be immeasurable beyond the static noise of fill up variations and butt dyno calibration, however.
The idea is that the alternator is a fairly inefficient drain on the power train. Part of the inefficiency is that, over time, wires and connections degrade significantly. Adding new, or better, grounds, should improve current flow, lowering amperage necessary, thus lowering power demands from the alternator, and in turn lowering power demands from the engine.
At very least, you should get brighter headlights.

It seems sort of obvious, but it took me a long time to figure out that the 'strongest' ground the electrical system has is at the alternator's body.
The alternator works by ripping electrons from their place in the windings of the coil. This makes a great difference between the potential energy of the ground and the +12V wires.
If you bulk up the ground wire from the alternator/engine to the body, it should improve efficiency of the electrical system. As a matter of fact, the pewney ground wire that's there seems ridiculously small. At least replacing that one wire would be a good upgrade, let alone the numerous others that could use some beefing up like those to the battery and starter.-Zack
