Long intro short I was talking to this fella (70ish) that is mentioned in my "motherload" thread and he told me of a lady across his town that put an add on one of those Radio classifieds. Well his wife answered the add and paid a visit to her. Their expected transaction fell through but the old lady insisted on selling some of her antiques. She opened the garage and low and behold, a very clean Blue Festiva. My guys wife (her dd is a 496,000 mile Festiva) didn't want to hear antique talk. She asked about the car. The old ladys husband died around 1998 and she just started selling his stuff. Upon closer inspection the Wife guessed GL Sport.
11,000 original miles.
When asked if she'd sell it the old lady said yes. Pondered for quite a few moments. Then said she couldn't see herself selling it for less than $500. Then she said "hold on I'm not really sure. My son has been starting it regularly and that kind of stuff. I've got to ask him first." He walks in a few minutes later and says he'd sell it for $500. The wife offers a check immediately but gets the "hold on" trip again. This time because it was the biggest thing she had left of her husbands.
They swapped phone numbers as the old lady said she wouldn't sell it to anybody else because they are currently Festiva owners and would most likely take care of it. That was a few months ago.
