  • hey everyone

    i bought a 89 lx festiva automatic it was fine but now it has giving me alot of problems i really like the car but i had to replace the distributor also been having an oil leak problem i constanlly have to be putting oil also i took it to a mechanic and he said one of my cylinders was busted so now im running on 3 so sad does anyone know of a good mechanic for these cars? in los angeles cali please let me know im looking to fix this lil car very nice

      We have a few members in Cali, someone may be able to recommend a good mechanic or even take a look at the car with you and help you figure out what all needs done to it. Oh, and WELCOME!

              Well you gotta Start somewhere so where are you leaking oil from? Just follow the trail of oil and you will find out where it's coming from.
              Did you ask the what he meant by a "busted cylinder"? Does the car overheat or anything?

                is there a loss of compression, is that injector firing? is it a bad plug/wire? highly doubt you have a "busted cylinder" or a busted piston (though it is possible).
                Trees aren't kind to me...

                  welcome to the site but take it from me dude. DIAGNOSE BEFORE YOU REPLACE. i have spent a good chunk of change and still cant get my festy to start. just take your time and quadrouple(spellcheck?!?) check everything

                    Welcome to the site. I guess the first order of business would be a compression test to see how it looks. Then see if you can tell where the oil is coming from.
