Just a small ( and arguably worthless ) bit of festiva trivia. I noticed the other day that the covers on these operator manuals have different fonts. Both are 93s.

Interesting. One from an L, and one from a GL, perhaps?

Dumb thieves go to prison, smart ones go to work for the Government.

    1988 L - 232K miles Batstiva
    1989 L - 247K miles Slick
    1990 L - 281K miles Orphan Annie

Probably because one of them has black writing inside, the other has blue  Or, the owners were like me and snagged one (perhaps from another year) when something happened to theirs. There is no identifying info on the covers themselves is there?
      No festiva for me ATM...

Maybe different build dates. One is actually from 92 and one is from 93?

Cool... that would be like a minting error on a rare coin.

I did a little more discovery and found a couple of interesting things. Prior to 1990 or 1991 the little booklets were put in the clear type of case pictured below. Maybe someone could add to this ?

I also discovered that the 1989 auto Ive recently been working on has the complete set of booklets including warranty ID card, and amazingly the original window sticker. Thats awesome !!! I hadnt really looked at the stuff in the glove compartment.

              Note the statement concerning MPG

That MPG statement seems a bit low, but then it is an automatic, and low thirties seem to be what everyone gets out of them.

Yes it was. The house I grew up in was also 80k not 400k. Smokes were 3 packs for 5 bucks not one pack. And beer i don't know i was 13, we stole that. JK

But funny that hot wheels were 88 cents in 1989 just like they still are at walmart.

35 almost 36 is normal for ours now. The same as the my first Festiva 90/auto. Back then 30ish was normal for 3spd auto's since that's all there was. Just imagine a Festiva with overdrive hmmm.

The Vin numbers should tell you the whole story.
                              Know how to interpret them?
