  • Help for a Festiva family in Joplin, MO

FestivaWES family's home was hit by the storm in Joplin, MO.
    He's probably down there now.
We need to do something more than the usual "I'll Pray for them"!

    Wes,
You said they lost everything no home no clothes.
We can't do anything about a home, or at least I don't know anyone close enough in that regard.
    Hoping shelter are being opened.
However, I think we can get some clothing to them.
We need your ex-wife and kids clothes and shoe sizes.

If the US Postal Service is fully functional, we can send them direct, otherwise I think it best we find a point outside the disaster to ship them to and have them picked-up by yourself or someone who can assist.

I suggest jeans and shirts only because they holdup reasonably well.
I'll call shortly and start posting a list of what you think would most useful.

If anyone else feel like helping, please pick and item on the list(which I will post when I get it) and post that you'll send it or PM and I'll cross it off. I do this because we don't have the luxury of duplicates.

It maybe later till I can get hold of Wes and post the needed info. This project may change a number of ways depending upon how the needs and resources develop.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Updated info

Wes's address outside of the disaster in Joplin:

    Wes Kotarba
    247 Tall Oaks Dr.
    Strafford, MO 65757

    His daughters clothes sizes:
    undies and tee's 6-7
    shoes 12.5-1
    jeans/tops 7

Wes's Paypal if you prefer to that way:

Guy's I appreciate the support via paypal.
But I was hoping to get a list up that we could each purchase one item of clothing that they could use. Something of quality you or your children would buy and use. Except this would be sent to a person who really needs them.
Don't get me wrong money is great, but more than likely the banking system is intact, you can bet a bank is going to protect itself. But if goods are not available then no amount of money is going to help. That's why I'd prefer if we could get the size info we could just send the clothing direct. Yes, it more time consuming than doing a paypal, but I think it will be more useful.
That said, if you want I could take the paypal money and purchase those items the cash will cover and ship them.
Going to see if my work will match anything we can pull together here.
Raffle idea is good too, but that's nearly a week further away.
Maybe I'm just impatient about trying to get something done now!

I left a message for Wes on his cell, but I'm sure he is busy now, maybe he'll get some time later or log on here. If anyone else is in contact with him let us know here.

I've got plenty of friends here, I'm sure I can find something for them if I can get some sizes so I know what to look for..... definitely keeping Wes in my thoughts and prayers and will do what I can to help him. This is why we have this forum, not specifically for the help, or the cars, but the togetherness that we all feel from being a part of it, Wes we are here for you in anyway we can be.

I went to pick up my daughter today from her mom's house. The owner of the rental house will be leveling it, and rebuilding the structure. My daughters room was hit the hardest and her clothes are gone along with stuffed animals, her nintendo dsi games, but she has her dsi itself. Other things like pictures were lost that can not be replaced.

Karissa's clothes and Marlenes were still in their closets.

                              Her sizes are as follows:

                              undies and tee's 6-7
                              shoes 12.5-1
                              jeans/tops 7
