It is impressive what you can transport (in relative comfort) in a Festiva. I (6 foot 200lb) took my daughter and 2 of her high school buddies wilderness camping over the Victoria Day weekend. There is a roof-sized wooden tray mounted inside the 16 foot canoe to hold excess gear. The logging road access to the lake is mostly frequented by trucks and 4 wheelers and the Festy did draw considerable attention in there. Photos are from the way home complete with tired and sleeping passengers on the highway to Ottawa.

The roof is kinda weak for sitting on but if you fold down the backseat, open the hatch and park backwards a Festy performs excellent open air service at Drive-in movies. Been there done that.
One thing about an 'overload' like I did this weekend is it is hard on tires. Wore out a complete set in 10,000 k doing a similar camping stunt for a month in Newfoundland 5 years ago.
