Funny thing is I thought about this swap to but there are a few things to consider. 1 is the way the engine is setup with the cams being on the opposite side as our BP or any B-series engine. 2 is the way the tranny is positioned which is opposite aswell so that meaning the long axle is on the other side. 3 is the axles, you will have to have axles made. 4 the way the shifter hooks up. 4G63 trannies are cable opperated so you would need the whole shifter assymbly and cables. There is alot more like mounts and all that jazz but if you have the money go for it. I wanted to do this to and I have the engine and everything. Mine is a stout 6bolt engine but I really dont feel like fabricating a whole car. I have also fell in love with the BP so thats what im going for.
The EVO FQ400 4G would be kool too.Last edited by 91_festy_Gl; 06-05-2011, 08:14 AM.89L build thread http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=36422

its been done by evogun, now he doesn't have many pics showing how, hes very ilusive when it comes to see how it was done. For the money you would spend trying to fit that motor in modify the crossmember move the steering rack and get the proper suspension geometry i think you would be better of and cheaper building a mazda 1.8. The festiva doesnt weigh much so 250 hp combined with a good suspension im sure can go deep in the 11's. I think the biggest problem we have is making the horsepower useful and getting it to the ground.

Ink, it's nice to have a rare dream to shoot for, but it's just as nice, and more fun IMO, to have a bigger engine swap that is do-able now or soon.
A B6 under your hood beats a turbine in your dreams.
Karl'93GL "Prettystiva" ticking B3 and 5 speed, backup DD; full swaps in spring!
'91L "AquaMutt" my '91L; B6 swap/5 speed & Aspire brakes, DD/work car
'92L "Twinstiva" 5sp, salvage titled, waiting for repairs...
'93GL "Luxstiva," '94 B6 engine & ATX; needs overhauled
'89L "Muttstiva," now a storage bin, future trailer project
