Yep black would have been my 2nd vote if it didn't have the pin stripe. I would remove the pin striping and finish painting the actual trim on the doors black to match the black strip on the bumper, then go black rims. Yeah once you go black there is no turning back lmfao!

I think the red looks really good if you leave the car white with the red stripe, but I also like the idea of having a white car with black wheels and trim. I don't like the idea of having a white car with the red stripe and black wheels. It really comes down to what you like, though.

I vote for white wheels with one red spoke like Ken Block does to his cars.

Doubt it I think I'll be making the tracer wheels into my winter rims/tires. But who knows! The AR rims are noticeably lighter and I like the way they look. But you never know! You've already got the right tires for it :p

Thanks everyone for your ideas! I was debating on painting the molding on the side black to flow with the front bumper (as Enemy suggested at ohiostiva). I think white could look really good but black could look pretty sweet as well. I suppose I'll have to do a few test runs!

Paint one silver one red. Put both red ones on the same side of the car. Change sides when you get tired of whatever color is on the driver side.

Black with bare metal lip. Though I do agree with some of the others, the red pinstripe does make it possible to do a little red in the wheels too. Tracer wheels are my second favorite stock looking wheels (fave is ELX 7 spokes) and to paint them red to me would defeat the stock look. But to each his own. BTW, next time you see a set of ELX 7s at the yard, get the center caps, they fit the Tracer wheels and say "Ford" on them for even more of a stock look Would love to see someone do an LTS version of the Mercury "Minx" (don't remember who, but someone on here was thinking of using that name in a rebadging of Festiva as a Mercury) and of course it would have a BP and be rocking those Tracer wheels (and also a light-up grill or its not a true early 90s Merc ). Your car is the closest I've seen to one so far!

Oh, and as talented as Ken block is when it comes to driving, I am still amazed at the fact that he so horribly misjudged the amount of paint it would take to paint a wheel that he only bought enough paint to do ONE ugly spoke on each of his wheels. You'd think with all his money he could afford to go out and buy more and do the job right :-P

Love the guys driving, but the way his cars look makes me want to puke almost as much as riding along for his high-G rides would

                      That woulda been me.

Light up grille? Yup. Gotta do that.
Wheels? I might be able to put some Mercury symbols on my Aspire alloys, but I have thought of those Mercury wheels, too. I do like the way they look.

Right now I have one old Tracer seat and I'll be checking fitment into my Aqua car for eventual installation into Luxstiva (the future Mercury Mynx).

Painted one of them black as a bit of a mock up. I really like the black. I was thinking maybe making the inner side of each spoke a darker red. The pic doesn't do much justice. There is a lot of reflection in the pic

Definitely paint the white rims lip red. Obviously remove the weights and use stick on ones, but they would look awesome.

I still say black (or gunmetal) with bare lip.

Like that, but just do a better quality paint job than I did lol
