  • Ten cars that refuse to die

Yahoo's just getting around to recycling this July 2010 story on Yahoo.com.

Some models just seem to keep rolling along, whistling past the junkyard. We've identified 15 cars with exceptional and sometimes surprising endurance and value.

If you read the first slide, they are mainly aiming the article at cars that are still on the road today in large numbers. And with that goal in mind I think they hit the nail fairly squarely on the head (sorry, there's just not as many festies as there are cherokees and accords roaming the streets, just ask any of our members who are desperately searching for one)
        No festiva for me ATM...

I haven't seen a Cutlass Sierra is a long time. and I have never seen a Fiat 500 on the road, lol. But I guess it only applies in Europe.
            Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
            1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
            2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

I thought the geo metro would be there and the VW bug too.

Once again I'll say it, they were looking at cars still on the road. How many bugs do you see (real ones, not new ones) and also metros? A few, but not many compared to the ones they listed (though I think maybe they should've put the Fiat in a different list lol).

In Mexico there are a lot and since they are including the Fiat from Europe why not the Bug?

I agree, they should've picked a country and stuck with it. So we'll get rid of the Fiat and put in, say, Toyota Camry... not because I'm a big fan (though I do like the 90's four bangers) but because there's a ton of them still rolling.
