  • New guy on the site.

    Hello everyone!
Just wanted to quickly introduce myself. The name is Charlie. I grew up in New England, but have lived in the Phoenix area for the better part of a decade. I've been obsessed with the ford Festiva since I was a teenager, but didn't actually get my own until last year. I'm currently replacing the melted down B3 with a b6t from an XR2. I'm really enjoying this project and I work on it whenever I get a spare minute. I stumbled upon Fordfestiva.com while doing some late night research and was very excited to see so many other people who share my passion for these little cars. My friends all think I'm crazy for building this car, as I have made a living from building custom high end exotic race cars and have spent a a good portion of my life at the racetrack tuning "real" cars. However, I see a lot of potential in the little Festiva chassis and I'm excited to put my skills to work on a street/track car that will turn heads every time I sneak by a "real" car. I hope to share lots with everyone, and look forward to seeing you all at some Festiva meets.
Check out my album for some pics of my build, I welcome any advice comments or questions.

    Charlie:p

No A/C in the Festiva. It's not a going to be a DD. Funny story, I bought a Capri XR2 for the swap and ended up keeping the car as my DD because it's in too good of shape to chop up. That car's A/C blows cold. I bought another XR2 basket case for the organ donor. Flagstaff is beautiful but too far from work.

I put a few pictures in my album on my profile. I will try to post more soon. I love that Isuzu bumper, and may do that on my car. I put an Isuzu Imax bumper on an 81 Scirocco that I built a long time ago and it looked great, but I haven't seen an Imax at the yard for years.

+1 on the Imax bumpers. Anymore those cars are like unicorns, you hear stories but never see one. I'm trying to work a deal on one now and hoping the lady will soon get tired of it sitting in her yard

I wish I would have scooped up all the Imax stuff I could grab back when they were common at PAP. I do see the stylus bumpers from time to time, and if I find a solid one I will scoop it up for my festiva. Thought about maybe using a late 90's honda body kit bumper too, those cars were about the same width and pretty boxy. May have to do some fiberglass work, but it would leave room for my intercooler.

Maybe you will find a good fit for the rear bumper. I'm not a fan of the stylus rear bumpers, but I love the front!
